What if I still owe money on my car?
-If you still owe money on your car, or have a lien, we’ll help contact the bank to get a payoff and get the lien released. If you have a previously paid-off lien, you’ll need to bring the title as well as the lien release before you can sell your car to us.
 
 
 
What if I owe more money than my car is worth?
-If you owe more money on your car than we appraise it for, or you have negative equity, this can usually be included in the financing if you buy a car from Clift. If you aren’t in the market for another car, we can calculate the difference between what you owe and our offer and you’ll be able to pay Clift’s rather than the bank. We can accept cashier’s checks, certified checks, certified funds and cash. If the amount you owe is less than $250, we will also be able to accept personal checks.

 

Is the offer you give me negotiable?
-No. The offer we make you will be fair and based on numerous factors. It is non-negotiable. There is no obligation to sell us your car, even after we appraise it.

What happens to my car after I sell it to you?
-Depending on the condition of your car, it will either be resold on our lot or at an auction. If we decide to resell it, we will detail it, fix any minor mechanical or body problems and place it on our lot.

 

What if my car has water or smoke damage, or significant damage to the frame?
-Water, smoke or body damage can considerably lower the value of your car. If your car’s structural integrity has been compromised, or the car cannot be driven, the price we offer will be lower as well.

When and how will I receive payment for my car?
-When you decide to sell it to us, whether that’s the day we appraise it or 3 days later, we will write you a check immediately.

Where do I find my car’s VIN?
-Your car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be found on the driver’s side windshield in the lower corner near the barcode. It can also be found inside the driver’s door.

 

What if my car is leased?
-You’ll need to contact your leasing company for all the details, but usually your leased vehicle can be sold nearly the same way as any other financed vehicle. After we appraise it, we’ll contact the leasing company to see how much you owe. We can then process any equity and work with the bank to get your car paid off.

Can I change my mind after I sell you my car?
-No, after you sell us your car we cannot sell it back to you. However, after we appraise your car you have 3 days to decide whether or not you would like to sell it to us.

What if all the titleholders can’t be present?
-If all titleholders cannot come in to the dealership for the sale, please contact us toll free at 1-866-677-7340 or locally at 517-265-6107 in advance to make other arrangements.

For how long is the offer you give me good?
-You have 3 days to decide whether or not you would like to sell us your car. If you decide to sell it to us, we will write you a check the same day
